General Description:
We are seeking an experienced cybersecurity professional with a strong background in platform instruction and Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO). The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and hands-on experience in Enterprise Defense, Threat Hunting, and/or Incident Response.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive training on defensive cyberspace strategies and tactics.
  • Update course materials to reflect the latest threats and defense mechanisms.
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions in a lab environment to simulate real-world scenarios.

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

  • Skilled communicator, experienced in providing platform instruction to an academically diverse audience.
  • Proficient in identifying and analyzing Indicators of Compromise, conducting Network Traffic Analysis, and executing Host Surveys and Malware Triage.
  • Skilled in Network Mapping using various operating system tools.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals, including DNS, and comprehensive knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Proficient in network scanning and analysis tools including NMAP, Zenmap, and Wireshark; experienced with penetration testing frameworks such as Metasploit and Burp Suite; familiar with Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems like SNORT and TCPDump; and familiar in configuring network packet filtering and firewall settings using iptables.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Security+ (Sec+)
  • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
  • Additional defensive-focused training and certifications are highly advantageous.

Salary Range: $140,000 – $180,000 (annually)

General Description:
We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Course Developer/Instructor specializing in Defensive Cyber Operations within space operations. This role also serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Cyber Operations integration, contributing to our diverse and expert workforce. In addition to instructional duties, the candidate will provide on-site technical expertise and guidance in Cyber Operations. This includes defining the roles and responsibilities of cyber operators and overseeing Cyber Range Operations, with a focus on integrating Defensive Cyber Operations within an operational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing training courses and content tailored to the National Space Defense Center (NSDC) mission.
  • Deliver and facilitate training in both classroom and operational environments, ensuring the creation and implementation of standardized procedures related to NSDC operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in threat hunting, identifying and analyzing Indicators of Compromise (IOCs), conducting network traffic analysis, and performing host surveys and malware triage.
  • Develop, refine, and continuously update training courseware based on instructor observations and student feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Actively participate in lessons-learned meetings and discussions to improve instructional methods and optimize training events and exercises.
  • Provide support for a Tier Combatant Command exercise, ensuring training validation and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly status reports on ongoing and upcoming events.
  • Offer strategic recommendations to senior leadership to enhance operational effectiveness and mission success.

Preferred Certifications: Candidates are encouraged to hold one or more of the following:

Organization: United States Space Force (USSF) Space Delta 6, Colorado Springs, CO

General Description:
We are seeking a Weapons and Tactics SME who will provide support to the USSF Space Delta 6’s Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) mission. This position focuses on the development, implementation, and optimization of cyber defense tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to ensure the readiness and effectiveness of the Space Delta 6 Cyber Squadrons (CYS) and Security Operations Center (SOC). The SME will enhance operational capabilities through training, planning, analysis, and real-time support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate TTPs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Operational Instructions (OIs) for defensive cyber operations.
  • Conduct operational and technical on-the-job training for Cyber Squadron personnel to increase proficiency in mission-critical tasks.
  • Participate in mission and operational planning teams to develop and validate technical approaches, recommend courses of action, and support DCO mission objectives.
  • Assist with the review and implementation of Cyber Tasking Orders (CTOs) and mission plans, ensuring alignment with Space Delta 6 priorities.
  • Provide real-time expertise during DCO operations, including cyber incident response and anomaly detection monitoring.
  • Collaborate with mission planners, intelligence analysts, and other teams to optimize response strategies and countermeasure development.
  • Analyze new DCO capabilities to assess functionality, identify potential improvements, and ensure alignment with operational requirements.
  • Optimize sensor tuning, baseline mission systems, and conduct Mission Relevant Terrain – Cyber (MRT-C) identification and mapping.
  • Foster communication between CYS, SOC, and Program Offices to align tactics and ensure mission success.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of DCO strategies, TTP development, and cyber defense best practices
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with Space Force or similar DCO missions.
  • Proficiency with cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection systems, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Demonstrated track record in a leadership or advisory capacity in the fields of cybersecurity or the military environment.
  • Graduate of the United States Air Force Weapons School.

Salary Range: $160,000 – $190,000 (annually)
